Ambassador Anne Anderson officially launched the IQO quality scheme and website on the 28th of October. A group of 60 guests comprising of Irish oyster farmers, French packers, restaurant owners, wholesalers and journalists were present to taste the first oysters approved under the scheme.

William Chopper Young from USA is the new Guinness World Oyster Opening Champion.
His time of 2:47 saw him win the competition defeating 16 international contenders.
Ireland's Micheal Moran was positioned in 2nd place.
