The European oyster opening champion for 2010, is Stephen Nolan from Ireland.
Even second and third place was taken by Ireland, by Michael Moran and Michael Kelly, and current World champion Xavier Caille from France finished fourth.
The best oyster openers from 12 European countries gathered in Gothenburg where they had to open 30 Irish native oysters and present them on a tray ready for consumption to compete for the title of European Champion. Judges award marks for presentation, quality of opening and speed of opening. Ireland was represented on the international judging panel by Vincent Graham from Kilcolgan, Co. Galway.
